The Gili Gambay Project

The Gili Gambay Project collaborates with First Nations People, Community and Country to nurture initiatives that grow through meaningful connection.

With shared values, Together We Shine.

The Gili Gambay Project - incorporates two languages:

“Gili” which means “Shine” from the Sydney Coastal language group - which covers from north and south of Sydney cove - but predominantly Sydney cove

“Gambay” - meaning “together” from the Butchulla people of K'gari, formerly known as Fraser Island. Butchulla country also covers the great sandy region, Fraser coast and into the south-east Queensland area of Australia.

Applications for our 2027 First Nations grants program will open soon.

We are offering First Nations people the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $15,000 for projects that support People, Community or Country.
