The Gili Gambay Project collaborates with First Nations People, Community and Country to nurture initiatives that grow through meaningful connection.

With shared values, Together We Shine.

The Gili Gambay Project - incorporates two languages:

“Gili” which means “Shine” from the Sydney Coastal language group - which covers from north and south of Sydney cove - but predominantly Sydney cove 

“Gambay” - meaning “together” from the Butchulla people of K'gari, formerly known as Fraser Island. Butchulla country also covers the great sandy region, Fraser coast and into the south-east Queensland area of Australia. 

Applications are now open for our 2026 first nations grants program.

We are offering first nations people the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $15,000 for projects that support People, Community or Country.

Applications close on 30 April 2026.
